I never write reviews but WVCS deserves it. I moved to NYC with my kitten and was terrified to leave him after searching for a cat sitter I could really trust. I took a leap of faith (based on the glowing reviews) on WVCS/Manhattan Kitties and I’m so thankful I did. They are thorough, efficient, and most of all KIND. When my kitty passed and I had to cancel a sitting, Sylvie, the owner, called me on the phone to give me her condolences. Such a genuine act of kindness and love of animals. I would recommend them to anyone without any hesitation at all.

As new cat parents, we were anxious to leave our 6-month-old kitty behind for the first time over a long weekend. Thankfully, we came across The West Village Cat Sitter & Manhattan Kitties and they put our minds totally at ease! In the weeks before our trip, we scheduled a call with Sylvie (the owner) and then were matched with our amazing sitter Laurelei who was even able to visit our apartment and meet our kitty before our trip. As expected, Laurelei took amazing care of our kitty, sending us updates and pictures after each visit (which we really appreciated - she even figured out a new way to connect his cat tunnels to make a super tunnel, which he loved!). We were able to relax and enjoy our trip knowing our kitty was so well cared for by Laurelei, and we already have her booked for our next trip away!

Superlative service. So pleased to discover WVCS/Manhattan Kitties. Despite being nervous about leaving my two kitties, Sylvie placed me at ease beforehand on arrangements, what to expect, cost, etc. Sitter Vicky was Fabulous, dependable and wonderful with kitties. I received a report with pics twice a day. Really made me feel secure that kitties had A+ care. Wish I could travel with my cats, but WVCS is next best. Can't give enough praise and highly recommend.

I have been in search of a reliable cat sitting service since I moved to NYC to have as a backup in case friends or family are unavailable, and literally 3 years into my residency I came across Sylvie and her team. From the moment I sent over an inquiry to the very last day that Jee (BEST CAT SITTER EVER) sent an update, I felt comfortable and confident leaving Greg in their care. Sylvie answered every single one of my questions and was so friendly and welcoming. Jee sent twice daily comprehensive reports while she was taking care of Greg including pics and the funniest videos. If I'm being totally honest, Jee spoiled Greg rotten. I think he had more fun with her in a week than he has with me daily. The litter box was sparkling every day, food dishes cleaned and water changed, Jee even brought Greg special treats and toys!

10/10 experience and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a cat sitter in the West Vil/Chelsea area!

I've used WVCS twice so far and both times have been a great experience. My sitter is Lauren and she's the best - she writes the most detailed emails explaining her time with my cats and sends videos of both which I love so much more than photos. I always feel at ease now when I travel knowing that Lauren will be there to check on them. The vetting and application process was extremely thorough which I appreciated and you can tell how much Sylvie & her team truly care about cats. I'll definitely continue using them going forward and recommend them to anyone who asks!

Chris was so kind and attentive to my cat, he took amazing care of her while I was away. My simply cat adored him, and he emailed regular updates every day. Absolutely amazing service. I have been using The West Village Cat Sitter & Manhattan Kitties for about 8 years now. I cannot recommend them enough. Sylvie, the owner, has been so helpful over the years -- not just with cat sitting but also recommending a great vet when I needed one, services for pet-friendly house cleaning, tips on how to travel with pets... she's an all-round essential fountain of knowledge and pet care! And then there are the sitters themselves and back-office help, who are all fantastic and super responsive: Maxwell, Benjamin, Melissa. In all the 8 years I have never had a single moment when I didn't feel my cats were 100% cared for. They send daily photos and updates, and any issues are always communicated on time. Probably the best-managed business I will ever write a review about (I don't often write reviews)! Unfortunately I will be moving abroad but I hope I find a similar level of service there. I will sincerely miss Sylvie and her team. Best of luck to you guys

By far, West Village Cat Sitter & Manhattan Kitties is the best cat sitting company I have ever used! The attention to detail and vetting of both the sitters and the clients is excellent. Both the owner and the sitters take the time to do FaceTime meet & greets before the first appointment to make sure it is a good fit for both client and sitter. Every sitter is personally vetted by the owner extensively and has years of experience with cats so they can ensure the best service each time. They send very detailed reports, photos and videos every day they are visiting your pet. This is the only cat sitting company I’ve used where I come home to a perfectly clean litter box every time. Their sitters’ truly love caring for cats - the owner does not hire anyone who is not just as willing to do the hard parts of caring for cats (accidents, medicine, etc. than they are with the fun parts. All of this is done at a very reasonable price that is what I consider standard for the local market.

Sylvie and her team are amazing! The communication is so clear, the sitter always leaves fun and detailed descriptions of each visit with your pet (in my experience with photos, videos, and adorable emails), and you can tell they really care. If I wasn’t moving out of the city I would keep using these services no doubt.
