I had a bad experience with Old Hickory Bat Company. I was in need of a bat for my season coming up, so I had to rush order it. I ordered a Fully Custom Puck Knob J143, a 243 copy. When I got the bat the weighting was wrong, and the barrel was more shaped like a 271. Not happy, I reached out to see if I could return it for a refund to which they said "We don't do refunds on Custom Bats". They gave me the option of returning it and getting it redone which was nice. They got the remake bat out fast, yet when it got here the same issues were present. This bat was near $300, and the wood grain was sloppy. The seam of the wood is curved around the bat, and the grain isn't straight whatsoever, causing this bat to have NO pop. When compared to a Rawlings' $99 Big Stick Elite 243, the Rawlings crushes it. I see a lot of good reviews for this company, maybe mine is a rare case. A $300 Bat shouldn't be this sloppy once, yet it happened to me twice.

Do NOT visit the historic Old Hickory factory in Goodlettsville Tennessee. I needed a bat before my wood bat league game so took off work early on Friday to make it up there in time to buy one, as they are not open on weekends. I rushed and drove 1.5 hours one direction and made sure to get there 45 minutes within the closing time listed online. Whenever I got there I was disappointed to see that they do not follow their hours listed online as they were closed. Their phone lines went straight to the operator so I couldn't call to see if anyone was there either. I left a message too and nobody got back with me. So I took off work early Friday, drove 3 hours round trip, and had to work on Sunday because apparently they decide to close at random hours. I would NOT recommend anyone visiting the historic factory in Goodletsville Tennessee unless you want to risk making a trip for nothing. Very disappointing.

Bought a bat and batting gloves there. Awesome people who work there.The tour was a very nice extra done by the owner who has an incredible amount of knowledge on the history of the sport.
