I needed a move-out clean to prepare a condo for sale as a remote owner. Initially, everything went well as the owner responded promptly and scheduled an appointment that met my timeframe. However, communication started to break down afterward. She did not respond to my calls or text messages to confirm the cleaning a day ahead where I was also to give her the lockbox code and other relevant information.
When the scheduled time came and went, I received no confirmation that the service had been performed, although an automatically generated invoice appeared in my inbox later that evening. I emailed the owner asking for confirmation and she mentioned that no pictures were taken but didn't confirm the work was done. She knew that I was a remote owner. I had my real estate agent check the condo, and she reported that it hadn't been touched—sinks, bathrooms, and everything else were still dirty.
Over the weekend, I informed the owner, Maryann, who promised to clean it personally on a Tuesday after a medical visit on that Monday. I asked for the specific time on Tuesday as we had to schedule pictures that day, but she did not respond all day. After business hours, I was forced to cancel the appointment since nothing was going well.
This experience set us back several days in listing the property for sale. I hate to leave a 1-star review, but there wasn't a single aspect of this interaction that justifies anything higher.
