We stopped in here for lunch when we were in Asheboro in the spring. We got hamburgers (cheese and bacon), french fries, sweet potato fries, strawberry shortcake, and red velvet cake. The food was decent. I have had better burgers around the USA but the fries were crispy like I like them. However, nothing to write home about. We loved the atmosphere and the service was fantastic. I would like to say that the prices were good and it would entice me to come back for decent, quick, and a cheaper meal versus other places.

This is what we look for when we are looking for hole in the wall restaurants. My son got the peanut butter banana hot dog and thought it was the greatest thing he has ever eaten! The place itself could use a little cleaning, but the food made up for that.

Located in the corner of a strip mall, I was worried when I walked in at 1145 and very few people were at tables. Soon after noon, party after party walked in and by the time I left, most of the 11 booths and 9 tables were full, which is always a good sign. Not a fancy looking place, it serves the purpose of give 'em quick food and move 'em out. Everything Under the Bun does do lunch specials - chicken livers, pork chops and roast beef was among those served the day I went - but the focus here are dogs, burgers and other sandwiches. Now, you can get normal burgers and dogs, but they do offer some items with a twist. Think Elvis' peanut butter, honey and banana on a burger or hot dog (The King), or a nice greasy spoon breakfast on both (Jam It Up), to name a couple. For me, since they served Nathan's dogs - it's hard to ruin Nathan's - thought I'd go that route and try something cheaply. Two dogs for me: your basic kraut and mustard dogs - kraut lightly charred on the griddle is so awesome - and (don't judge me) a Jam It Up. Yeah, it seems like what you might get if you let your 7-year-old son come up with a new idea for a hot dog, but I gotta tell you, this works: lightly toasted bun, a spread of grape jelly, fresh-cooked bacon, weiner, then on top a scrambled egg and a layer of American cheese (Not bad, I'd ask for cheddar next time). It really does have the feel of a quick breakfast all mixed together. I'd do it again. Or I'd try The King.

The fried pickles were fantastic and were a very large portion. I ordered a hamburger that was cooked to perfection along with the fries. The fries were crispy on the out out and soft in the middle. Very happy with the experience here.

Do not get the salmon Pattie’s this is the first time I’ve ordered her and it took a lot longer then I thought and the salmon was horrible! The Mac n cheese was good and the black eyed peas were ok. I won’t let this stop me from trying something else but never again will I order salmon patties

Even though its tucked away in the corner of a little shopping center, this place is popular. We went in and the dining room was almost full. This place has great handmade fresh food. The prices are very reasonable and the food is amazing. They make their own homemade potatoe chips, and have very unique burgers. There is a big list of specialty burgers that are all under 10 dollars. Very very glad that we stopped here for this great meal.
