ZERO STARS! PLEASE BELIEVE EVERY NEGATIVE REVIEW PUBLISHED ON GOOGLE & ON THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WEBSITE AND DO NOT TRUST THIS CROOKED COMPANY YOUR MONEY! We entered into contract with Anthony, the owner of The Grill Doctor, on August 4th when we paid him 50% deposit (of quoted total cost of $15000) to curate and build an outdoor kitchen for us, beginning August 19th, to be completed by August 21st. From the very beginning, he started three days late. When he finally showed up to begin phase 1 of the project, he arrived with an outsourced contractor to lay down cinderblocks and cement to build the scaffolding of our kitchen, then left. AFTER THIS DATE WE NEVER SAW ANTHONY AGAIN! Instead, we began receiving different excuses as to why our project would be delayed, mostly blaming his outsourced contractors, such as his electrician for being unreliable, etc etc, there are plenty more examples. Inbetween these excuses, he requested 30% more payment towards the total cost of the kitchen which he explained was for him to be able to pay his workers for labor, we felt uneasy about it to say the least because it all seemed very suspect but we didn't want him to abandon our project so we complied and paid the requested additional amount on top of our deposit.

After receiving additional payment from us, we were met with a landslide of even more obscure excuses! He no longer answered his phone or returned calls, we only received sporadic text messages, typically several days late in response. After 8 long weeks of this man deceiving us, procrastinating and prolonging our project being completed, it was very apparent that he was caught up in some type of Ponzi scheme that he was in over his head in! He had been telling us for weeks that our equipment and materials were "on the way" but when we began to follow up directly with his suppliers such as Centurion Stone, we discovered that the materials that he claimed were "on the way to us" had never been paid for or even ordered! On addressing the matter with him, he lied to us, blaming the supplier for having "an internal issue" and that the stone he ordered was on its way. Centurion Stone proved to us that the stone was never ordered because it was never paid for despite several attempts from them to receive payment from him! He clearly didn't have the money to purchase the material even though we had already paid him for it! This also happened with delivery of our equipment... Similar to past Google reviews below, each Monday we were given false hope to expect equipment deliveries by the end of the week only for Friday to roll around with another new excuse and for him to say the same thing! It's since become clear by manufacturers that none of the equipment was ever actually paid for! In the end, we have had to order the remaining equipment independently, direct from the supplier which have since been delivered within one week of payment, with zero hang ups or delays or "internal issues". We have had to pay out of pocket for our stone materials and are paying a new contractor to complete the masonry work.

Further issues not mentioned above include;
-Untruthfully informed us that Centurion Stone had stopped making the type of stone that we wanted so that we would switch to a cheaper option
-Grill delivered 8 weeks late
-Incorrect fridge delivered than what we ordered
-Pizza oven never delivered because he never paid it
-Stone materials never delivered because he never paid for them
-Rain water pooling in area where electric fridge is installed because not properly installed
-Rust on scaffolding
-Cracks arising with basic structure and mortar washing away
-Cement splattered across our living room windows due to sloppy craftsmanship

PLEASE SEE PHOTOS AND TEXT SCREENSHOTS FOR A FEW EXAMPLES OF EVIDENCE! I hope this review helps potential customers refrain from making the same mistake by choosing not to trust this crooked company!

Terrible service. We had an issue with the Technician and his appointment scheduling.
Left several messages with answering service, texts and emails. NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO US. Additionally we prepaid for the first visit, then prepaid for the parts/service then got billed yet again. Tech's first visit was supposed to be discounted if we proceeded. Then he charged us a third fee to install the parts.

He also showed up without any appointment. Outrageous. Never told us about these charges until after each bill accumulated, No management ever called me back. No communication from the company whatsoever. The Tech blamed them for not scheduling or informing us of all the fees and the visits. Tech had to borrow some of my tools (screwdrivers x3)!
Tech told us to make check payments to an individual not The Grill Doctor! Several other issues.
Quality of work was fine (gas fireplace) wouldn't light.
So very disappointed in them!

Excellent job cleaning up our grill. Forgot to take "before" pictures, but this is what it looks like now. Thanks for an awesome and timely job cleaning our gas grill!

We purchased a Green Mountain Grill from the Grill Doctor several years ago. This summer a part went out on it. Anthony was VERY knowledgeable about warranty and a new part. He ordered one right away for us and helped us get it fixed. I highly recommend them for your grill and backyard needs.

Excellent Service on my Weber Performer Grill!

I called The Grill Doctor for some repairs. I was given an estimate prior to anyone coming over. The technician called when he was 20 minutes away as promised.

On arrival, the Technician listened whilst I explained the issues; he had a look at the grill, then explained exactly what was wrong.

He promptly installed a couple of new parts and my grill was as good as new!

The estimate was spot on with no surprises. I'd recommend to my friends that are looking for repair!

My Grill needed a makeover and The Grill Doctor has serviced it for about 14 years.....Total replacement of Burners, Flavorbars, battery pack for knob lights, all knobs, cleaning...amazing job..I mean amazing.. The Technician Cort was so thorough...

I have yet to grill on it but cannot wait...it is 103 degrees (Feel like) outside today ..I have no desire to be near more heat.

Do not believe a word from this company!! After paying by check for a fix to my outdoor hood vent in July of 2023, I was told multiple excuses for 5 months why they could not come back. Finally, in Feb 2024, they offered a refund for the part and I was told a check will be mailed in 2-3 weeks. Dozens of follow up requests on status of refund check and you guessed it, here we are in January of 2025 and no check. Excuses given: staffing issues but you are a priority, busy season but you are a priority, slow season but you are a priority and finally - a sick child. They no longer respond to calls or texts. Just reached out to Attorney General's Office of NC and hoping for a resolution.

We contracted the Grill Doctor to build our outdoor patio, fire pit, and kitchen area. I cannot say enough positive things about the experience. They took the time to design a space that was exactly what we had envisioned. The whole crew was great to work with throughout the project and made sure to spend the time to do it the right way. Whether your project is large or small, I highly recommend The Grill Doctor!!
